Dear Beautiful Ones,
I hope you’ll join me and a circle of lovely women next March at our Gaian Soul Retreat. We’ll replenish and refresh ourselves with creativity, contemplation and community. We’ll connect with Mama Gaia as she dresses up in her Springtime glory. We’ll align ourselves with the energy of the Spring Equinox, as we leap into the time of greening and blossoming, and dance with the Maiden of Spring.
Aldermarsh Retreat Center on Whidbey Island is a magical place, where the nature spirits are quite alive and present. Even if the weather is brisk and wet outside, we’ll be cozy and warm inside, as we make art together, play with tarot cards, and sit together in wisdom council. We’ll dine like queens, too, with seasonal, hand-crafted meals.
- Tarot play, to invite deep wisdom into our circle.
- Walks through the woods, marsh, and meadows.
- Time alone and time together.
- Sacred art play (for artists and non-artists alike!). We’ll have a new art project for returning retreatants, and if you want to make a Spirit Doll, we’ll have all the supplies on hand.
- Wisdom sharing in council circle.
- A ceremony to mark the Spring Equinox and glean its wisdom for our lives.
- Scrumptious, locally-sourced, hand-crafted meals by Elaine Nichols of the Radical Rolling Pin.
- A massage therapist available for appointments.
- Time to relax in the hot tub and in the grass-roofed, wood-fired sauna.
- Giggles and great big belly laughs.
- Sweet dreams.

About Joanna . . .
Joanna Powell Colbert is an artist, author, and teacher of tarot and earth-centered spirituality. The Gaian Tarot, nine years in the making, combines her love of archetypal art with the mysteries of Mama Gaia, the natural world. A Collector’s Edition is nearly sold out, and a mass market edition was published by Llewellyn Worldwide in September 2011.
Joanna teaches online courses and workshops around the country on the tarot, earth-centered spirituality, seasonal practices, and creating sacred art. She also hosts an engaging membership site, the Gaian Tarot Circle, which is a community for lovers of the Gaian Tarot. Joanna regularly shows her artwork and teaches workshops at tarot conferences and other events around the country. Her main website, including her blog, is found at: GaianSoul.com.
The Gaian Tarot was created during the decade Joanna lived on a small island near Bellingham, Washington. Today she lives in the woods outside town, where daily encounters with the mysteries of the natural world continue to inspire and inform her work.
Gaian Soul Retreats are held twice a year, just before the Equinoxes in March and September.
